Manila, Philippines - The Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) announces that 242 out of 340 (71.18%) passed the Dentist Licensure Examination given by the Board of Dentistry in Manila this June 2010 .
The results were released in three (3) working days after the last day of examinations.
Registration for the issuance of Professional Identification Card (ID) and Certificate of Registration will start on Tuesday, June 15, 2010 but not later than June 23, 2010.
Those who will register are required to bring the following:

- duly accomplished Oath Form or Panunumpa ng Propesyonal,
- current Community Tax Certificate (cedula),
- 2 pieces passport size picture (colored with white background and complete name tag),
- 1 piece 1” x 1” picture (colored with white background and complete name tag),
- 2 sets of metered documentary stamps,
- and 1 short brown envelope with name and profession; and to pay the Initial Registration Fee of P600 and Annual Registration Fee of P450 for 2010-2013. Successful examinees should personally register and sign in the Roster of Registered Professionals .
The oathtaking ceremony of the successful examinees in the said examination as well as the previous ones who have not taken their Oath of Professional will be held before the Board on Friday, July 9, 2010 at 1:30 in the afternoon at the Fiesta Pavilion, Manila Hotel, One Rizal Park, Roxas Boulevard, Manila. STRICTLY BUSINESS ATTIRE FOR ALL SUCCESSFUL EXAMINEES .
Selling of oathtaking tickets will be from June 15, 2010 until July 7, 2010 only at the 2nd Floor, Ever Gotesco, Recto.
Registration for membership with the Philippine Dental Association will start on Tuesday, June 15, 2010.

kaya siguro matagal nila ilabas yung result dahil inaayos pa nila yung mga bumagsak na ipapasa..hahaha..PRC has no integrity at all. They more on money,money,money....
dapat n cgurong kalampagin ang prc sa patago ngunit lantad n bayaran.

Nakaktawa naman mga comments dito.. halatang losers mga tao.. pag bumagsak sasabihin may anomalya pag pumasa pero mababa passing ng school nya may anomalya para rin… mga tol kahit sa ibang professions, may mga board examiners talaga na galling sa mga schools na kumukuha ng board.. eh ano gusto nyo kayo??? Mga gung-gong pala kayo eh, syempre bago maging board member yan dumaan yan sa botohan at ang mga kapwa nominees ay puro may kapasidad to perform the task with integrity di tulad ng mga ungas na nagcocomment ng paninira.. kung nagresearch lang sana ung mga ungas na to at tiningnan ung history ng DLE results, consistent ang UE as top performing school ng dentistry.. magtaka kayo mga ungas kung yung consistent na mababa ang passing rating historically ay biglang number 1 ngayon sa 2010. Bato bato sa langit ang tamaan wag magagalit… PEACE!!!

Sana PO sa dental board exam ay gamitin nalang nila yong dating category ng mga schools
A. with 5 to 25 examinees B. WITHH 26 TO 99 EXAMINEES c. with more than 100 examinees .... because po konti lang naman po ang nakuh ng dental board exam tuwing MAY BOARD at DECEMBER BOARD EXAM..... SANA PO ANG P.R.C. ..ay pag aralan po ang ganitong category sa TOP PERFORMING DENTAL SCHOOL.. MARAMAING SALAMAT PO....
dapat ibaba pa ang passing rate para mag tiyaga ang studyante mag aral at wag na umasa sa pag babayad para pumasa lang..

The system of the PRC and Board of Dentistry in dividing the schools in 3 categories gives an opportunity for other schools to get the number 1 spot in their own specific category. The existing system is as follows:
Category 1: schools with 100 or more examinees
Example: even though CEU only got 49% passing rate they were still able to get the number 1 spot during the Dec 2008 exam
Category 2: schools with 26-99 examinees
Example: Dec 2008, UE got the number 1 spot by achieving 91 % passing
Category 3: schools with 5-25 examinees
Example: UP, UB and Cebu Docs all were number 1 since they all got 100% passing in Dec 2008
In the old system, the schools are ranked based on their passing rate regardless of the number of examinees. Those school/s that have been consistently achieving a 100% passing rate for the past several decades has/have been consistently in the number one spot.
So what do you think was the PRC's intention of dividing the schools into several categories?
Now i heard that they are planning to again revise the system and remove all the categories but only limit the ranking to schools with more than 50 (fifty examinees).
So what happens now to those schools who have been consistently achieving a 100% passing rate but are only able to produce less than fifty examinees per licensure exam?
Does this mean that only BIG schools are going to be ranked and published in newspapers to show-off their number one or two spot eventhough they only were able to achieve a "not so impressive" passing rate? This system may be a little misleading to people who do not understand this, don't you think? ]
What about the small schools who are really doing well? It seems like in this new system, these small schools are being discriminated. What do you think?
One more issue is the ranking and passing rate of the previous June 2010 exams. If you notice, almost all schools have very high passing rates. Almost all were able to get a 100%. Why is this so? If you look closely at the results only the practical exam examinees were included in the computation of the passing rate. This is very misleading. The computation of the passing rate must include all those who took the theoretical examinations and not only the practicals.
What they did was they let possibly more than a thousand examinees take the theoretical exams and about only 300+ were able to pass. They let the 300 take the exam and about 200+ examinees passed. The error was, they only computed the passing rate of the practical exams and excluded the hundreds who failed the theoretical exam, thus making the passing rate of all the schools very high! The bad thing about it is that it was published in the leading newspapers possibly misleading the public into thinking that the "Dentistry Board Exam" is a piece of cake and that all schools are doing really well.
The passing rate should be computed as the total number who PASSED BOTH PRACTICAL AND THEORETICAL DIVIDED BY TOTAL NUMBER OF BOTH THEORETICAL AND PRACTICAL EXAMINEES.This will show the real picture.
