TOP 20 NURSING SCHOOLS 2009 in the PHILIPPINES

The Commission on Higher Education (CHEd) has released the TOP 20 NURSING SCHOOLS  2009 in the PHILIPPINES with high-performing nursing passing rate.

On the other hand, CHED warned 152 of the 456 nursing schools in the Philippines to improve their licensure examination passing rates or face closure as more than 95,000 nursing graduates prepare for the tests this weekend (November 29 & 30, 2009).

CHEd said that it will issue an initial warning to the 152 schools to improve their nursing programs through their graduates’ performance in the succeeding nursing licensure exams. CHEd has the legal authority to order the closure or phasing out of degree programs that failed to meet the standards in licensure tests.

Likewise, CHEd identified 15 schools have already closed down their nursing programs, namely: Bacarra Medical Center School of Midwifery (Region 1), Antipolo School of Nursing and Midwifery, Heroes Memorial College, Kolehiyo ng Mamamayan, Cotabato Maritime Academy, Ignatian College, Clinica Arellano School of Midwifery, Quezon Memorial College, Sta. Teresita College, Baguio General Hospital, Chong Jua Hospital School of Nursing, Faith Hospital School of Midwifery, Manila College of Optometry, Ortanez University and the Philippine Union College of Caloocan.

The Commission on Higher Education (CHEd) named the TOP 20 NURSING SCHOOLS 2009 in the PHILIPPINES with 1,000 or more takers:

Pweeeee, magsitigil kayo....Puro kayo payabangan e pare-pareho lang naman kayong mga RN's na. But you have to face the reality, chances of you to come over here in the United States is becoming more and more stiffer. Why ? number of nursing graduates here is increasing so U.S. hospital preftoer hire their own products. Dito sa america, hindi tinatanong kung saan ka graduate at kung ano ang score mo. wonder why NCLEX-RN is only pass or fail result ? kasi kung bumagsak ka, the NCSBN will send you a profile and there you find out why. Besides, employers don't even ask how many attempts you took the NCLEX-RN, am importante may RN license. Nursing school's name doesn't even add-up to the salary. Every RN is the same no matter what poorest nursing school ka nanggaling sa pilipinas......kaya pwede ba, JUST SHUT UP !!!!!

IM A GRADUATE OF SAINT PAUL UNIVERSITY DUMAGUETE AND PASSED THE BOARD EXAM LAST JUNE 2009 WHERE 112 TOOK THE EXAM AND ALL PASSED,, THE RIVALRY BETWEEN SU & ST. PAUL HERE IN DUMAGUETE IS VERY EVIDENT..BUT BOTH SCHOOLS ARE WORKING HAND IN HAND TO BRING GREATNESS IN REGION 7..ST. PAUL DUMAGUETE BEING THE FIRST ST. PAUL SCHOOL IN THE PHILIPPINES AND CONSISTENT IN THEIR RATINGS SA BOARD EXAM, WHILE SU WAS THE FIRST AMERICAN SCHOOL IN THE COUNTRY, DON'T GENERALIZED NA PORKE GALING NG VISAYAS DI NA MAGALING MAG ENGLISH..STUDENTS FROM SU &ST. PAUL ARE BRILLIANT..SEE IT FOR YOUR SELF..SO MGA TAGA LUZON TIGNAN NA LNG NATIN NGAYONG BOARD KUNG ANO RESULT.ST. PAUL ILOILO ARE VERY IMPRESSIVE TATALUNIN ANG TAGA LUZON!!!!!!!!

ITIGIL NYO NGA PAGKUKUMPARA KUNG SAAN SCHOOL KAYU NAGRADUATE NG NURSING! AS LONG YOU PASSED THE BOARDS THIS MEANS YOU ARE CREDIBLE ENOUGH NA MAGTRABAHO BILANG NURSE PROFESSIONAL.

KAHIT SAAN KA MAN GRADUATE TANDAAN MO B.S DEGREE KA LANG AT LATAK PA DIN UTAK MO SA FIELD NG MEDISINA, , WALA KA PADIN GAWA KUNG DI TAGASUNOD. KAYA KUNG AKO SAYU SA MGA MADALDAL DITO MAGARAL PA KAYU TULAD NG MEDISINA OR RELATED MS DEGREE GRADUATE SCHOOL PARA NAMAN UMUNLAD PA KAYU MAHUSAY.

UP KA MAN OR Z SCHOOL KA GALING WALA PARIN SAY SAY ANG UTAK MO PAG DI KA PUMASOK SA GRADUATE LEVEL KAYA TAMA NA PAGMAMAYABANG NYO.

R.N, MD, MSC.

Darn guys. Keep braggin' who is the best nursing school in the Philippines. Basing on the passing rate and the number of examinees. Geeez. Bakit kaya no. ang Silliman? Siguro nagkamali silang lahat. Ang tanga naman nila. Ang yabang ng mga taga-Silliman. This year's board exam, tingnan natin kung sino ang mag-ttop 1, knowing Silliman will only be having less than 600 takers. Maybe to bring back the glory of having a 100% for a couple of decades. Geez. Ang yayabang ng mga taga-SU. Mas magaling pa raw ang tga-UP. Naman.

Siguro, we'll consider the fact kung ano yung basis ng PRC na maglagay ng bracket or category between the 1000+ or more and 199+ or more. Maybe because of fairness in terms of doing the math (imho). Nevertheless, we are not to compare schools here. Every schools has uniqueness in them. May school na medyo tagilid sa nursing pero magaling naman sa engineering program nila. Kaya, we are not to vent out our crab mentality here. At the end of the day, the ones who are in the top are Filipinos. Just look at that way.

Silliman NLE passer 2009. ^_^

Why don't you guys fly here in the States, and ask Johns Hopkins University Hospital(No. 1 hospital in the U.S.) which graduates they would preferably employ? Only UST and UP graduates.... people!. I work in this hospital, and it is pretty obvious which nurses graduated from these 2 schools when I meet them in the hospital hallways....more articulate(meaning good grammar and easily understood by patients and doctors), great leadership skills and very professional when it comes to dealings with their co-workers..........Hindi kami kagaya ng mga Bisayang matitigas ang mga dila. Diyos ko day!!!Nakakahiya kayo!

to the one who commented about us BISAYANs...WATCH YOUR MOUTH !!!
