I am a Mapuan belonging to the last batch ng mga tunay na Mapuan(panahon ni lolo Oscar Mapua). Masakit mang aminin, lubog na talaga ang Mapua. During the time na nag stay ako sa Mapua(1995-2000), magsasawa ka sa pagbilang sa dami ng topnotchers. From Arch, CE, EE-ECE, Geology, Met, ME, Mining. Yung topnotchers pa lang sa ECE nung 1997, sa dami nila mas malaki pa yung bilang nila kumpara sa mga Mapua topnotchers from 2002 to present. MAliban dun, maganda pa overall performance ng Mapua nun. Naglalaro lang tayo sa top 1 to top 3 nun. In the past 7 or 8 years, talo na tayo ng provincial schools. Dapat kasi tanggalin na yung KUARTA Sem na pinauso ni Dr. Reynaldo Vea.

i agree 2 u maPuan, degrading na ang performans ng mapua 2day...wen i was at d provins...bilib ako sa naririnig q about mapua pro wen we became classm8...mejo napaOOOpps ako...e2 na b mga mapuans. dapat quality nd not quantity. tama b? para pang 100% ang dating.

i do agree normally they only let graduates that have potential to pass take the exam. And still every school is good it only depends upon the individual to be sucesful and be using d knowledge he or she had learn and make a diference on ths country or abroad. To all passers of d board i wish u ol gud luck. Remember knowledge is power and be thirsty to seek more of it. GOD BLESS US ALL!

Ano ba yan ang daming bagsak sa Mapua (103 of 157 failed) or 34% passing. Nakakahiya. Dinadadaan na lang sa quantity at di quality.
dun sa nagcomment na bokya ang De La Salle-Dasma eh hindi nya alam ang sinasabi nya. Eh wala namang electrical engineering course sa De La Salle-Dasma eh.
I think something is wrong with the stat report of passing. According to the stat report, Bicol University had only 2 passers or 7% passing when in fact it had 8 topnothers. The same case for Divine Word... De La Salle-Dasma had 0% passing in the reports when in fact all its 12 examinees passed or 100%. Mukang baligtad yata ung reports sa ibang schools.
Pki check lang po mabuti ung stat report. It will mislead the people at nakakaapekto sa reputatasyon ng mga schools....
UPLB PA DIN ANG NUMBER 1, KASI HINDI LANG 100% ang PASSING RATE, PATI TOPNOTCHERS NASA UPLB DIN!
MSU-IT wag masyadong MAHANGIN, hindi pa yan SAPAT, ok?!

I compare ba daw naman ang MSU sa Harvard at ang UPLB sa Mapua.. haha.. ang Harvard di hamak na malayo ang agwat nun sa MSU.. at xmpre ang UPLB ay hindi hamak din na mas malayo ang agwat sa kagalingan sa Mapua.. dahil UPLB ang tunay na no.1..
Kung magaling ang MSU dapat pati civil engineering nag TOP kayo..pwed ba mga tiga MSU wala kayo minsan lang kayo mag TOP wag sana lahatin...NURSING nyo walang binatbat SA metro manila school..
de la salle dasma has EE course..try to check thier website...haha 0%...magtaka pa kayo eh MAHINA naman talaga DLSU-D..

Anyway, just for everybody's information.
For the last 16 REE Board Exams since it was established, UPLB EEDept has 13 Board Exams with 100% rating.
And for the record, it has 8 consecutive 100% passing rate, 2 topnotchers and more than 30 top 20 examinees.
I don't know if any school can beat that record but I am quite sure UPLB has consistency that no school can offer.
ahaha.. paghilom, pasar man gani ko UPCAT. MSU-IIT japon ko, no sweat ang exam sa UP.. lol

FYI lng. Maraming MSU-IIT students na UPCAT passers, but they just opted lng to stay in IIT due to financial reasons. P50 lng per unit namin dati and provincial rate lahat dun. Most of the transferees in UP that came from MSU-IIT, na-uuno nila most of the Math subjects upon transferring to UP. My bf is from UP and I'm from IIT, AND we're both UPCAT passers.
And to UPLB? Defensive much?
Bago pa lang Nursing sa MSUIIT. But even so, may topnotcher na kaagad on their first batch na nagtake ng board. Need I say more?
oo na noh no.1 nmn talaga UP! hallllleeeerrr... pro nga nmn tinalo pa ng msu- iit yung mga mamahaling school sa metro manila! na dapat kyo nangunguna! isipin nyo nlng probnxa yun from mindanao! d basta basta lng school nmin,high standard compare sa iba. im proud IITian aq! astig tlga school nmin! try nyo kyang pumunta sa iligan pra malaman nyo.. ano msaya na kyo?
Hmmmmm... Number one school is not about just 100% passing and topping it, it's something about the fair accessibility to quality education. It can be sometimes measured with the ratio of tuition vs. the quality of education. Well of course quality measurements can come from different institution like prc or ched. The most important thing in this ratio is that it should be smaller or to be number one is to have the smallest ratio than others. This means that the innate high IQ of students that topped any exams are irrelevant.
Try to measure: (P10/??(quality meas.) vs. (P400/??(quality meas.)
Generally I think MSU-IIT(NOT MSU-main campus)lead this race for now.
I don't like the quarter term in MAPUA! almost 40 k! per term.. sobra bilis ng lesson... mas ok pa.. tri-sem matutukan pa..
free tuition naman kami lahat MSU-main. wala gastos. Top1 school overall EE board exam since 1990. dami din topnotchers. UPLB magaling lang yan sa May board exam at MSU sa Oct at May top lagi..hahaha! wala pa kami gastos sa tuition!san ka pa!
dun sa nagsabing hindi pinapalabas ng MSU-IIT ang hindi pa ready sa board.... Common sense na man cguro. Taking the board exam costs much (review, etc)... so bakit ipapatake ang batang hindi pa ready. Magna? Sumasampung taon? Look at urself UPLB. Meron kaung mga estudyante dyan na 10 years in the making. Aminin nyo na. My brother was once part of that statistic.
Suma total. it is not about having the "best school"... sa huli, it is about hu did his best para pumasa. Huwag na lang tayong maging nega, ainstead let us wish them all happiness.

SCHOOLS IN METRO MANILA AND NEAR PROVINCES LIKE LAGUNA (LOS BANOS), CAVITE ETC. SHOULD REALLY TOP THE BOARD EXAMS BECAUSE YOU HAVE THE ADVANTAGE ON RESOURCES COMPARED TO PROVINCIAL SCHOOLS. BUT A POINT TO PONDER FOR UPLB, YOU ARE EQUALLED AND EVEN OVERTAKEN BY MSU-IIT THEREFOR THESE GUYS IN ONE WAY OR ANOTHER ARE BETTER THAN YOU ARE.
